Ronald Dokes Having Fine Year

Ronald Dokes, a 6-8, 240 pound power forward from Lincoln Trail C.C. in Robinson, Ill., is having a fine sophomore year for the Statesmen.
Dokes, who committed to Duquesne last month, averages 13 points and eight rebounds per game for Lincoln Trail.

"He probably won't be an impact player at Duquesne, but he is definitely a piece of the puzzle," Lincoln Trail Head Coach Rick Arp said. "He will help those guys win some games."
"We have to play him strictly in the post because John Toombs left, but he is really more of a four man who is active defensively in the press," Arp continued. "He does a lot of really good things, and I think he is going to go up to Duquesne this summer and get in their weight program and that's going to help him a lot."
A native of South Bend, Ind., Dokes had a number of mid-major programs courting him last summer and fall, but Arp said he found it hard to pass up the chance to play in a league like the Atlantic 10.
"He has really come on, and I think he can be a good player in the Atlantic 10," Arp continued. "It's a very physical league, but I still think he'll do a nice job."
