"I'm going to Arizona State September 30th, UNLV the first weekend in October and then Texas A&M on the 15th," said Roland. "I should have a decision a week after the A&M visit."
All three schools made their in-home pitch within the past several days. Texas A&M came in last Saturday, Arizona State was in on Tuesday and UNLV on Wednesday.
Roland, who averaged 22 points per game last season, is looking for a place where he can make an impact as a freshman. This year he is gunning for a state championship.
"We have a really good shot at winning the state," said Roland, who plays alongside another top national prospect Donald Sloan. "I'm looking forward to a big season.
Derrick Roland scouting report:
Roland is a long athlete who shoots the ball well from outside. Moves his feet well and has the potential to be a good defender with his length. He does need to improve his ball handling and become a more physical player.
