Rodney Tucker Plans To Re-Sign

Rodney Tucker, a 6-8, 230 pound power forward from Tallahassee C.C. in Tallahassee, Fla., plans on re-signing with Florida State in the spring.
Tucker spent two years at FSU, one as a sit-out and one in which he played for the Seminoles. Some off the court legal issues precipitated his leaving FSU for TCC this fall.

"He is going back to Florida State," Tallahassee C.C. Head Coach Eddie Barnes said. "He is on-line to graduate and he is going to go back there."
A native of Stone Mountain, Ga., Tucker returned to action for the Eagles on Saturday in a 69-47 victory over South Georgia Technical College. Tucker, who had just finished up serving a three game suspension for getting into an altercation in an earlier game this season, finished with 16 points in the win.
Although he appeared to put on some extra weight in the past year, Tucker still looked pretty good on Saturday against SGTC. He still gets off his feet well and does quite a bit of damage with his back to the basket, and he got to the charity stripe quite often.
Tucker will most likely be back at FSU next fall, although there are a few circumstances which could force him to throw open his recruitment in the spring.
"He has not signed early because of some situations," Barnes said. "If Steve [Robinson] is there, he's going back. If anybody else comes in and they want him, that's where he's going -- he wants to be at Florida State."
"Now if something happens, and there is a new coach in and they don't recruit him, that would open up a new opportunity and a new door," Barnes concluded.
JUCO Junction will keep you abreast of Tucker's situation as the spring approaches, so stay tuned.
