CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. -- Thanks to his play in the spring, Devin Robinson generated some buzz. At the NBPA Top 100 Camp, Robinson had the opportunity to show off to a scouting world that is still relatively unfamiliar with him.
The 6-foot-7 -- maybe 6-8 -- wing from Christchurch (Va.) showed up at camp ready to prove himself.
"I think people are really starting to notice my game now," Robinson told Rivals.com. "I feel like I've been rally under the radar and I just want to blow up now."
There's no question that Robinson's stock is on the rise. Ranked No. 106 nationally, he's going to make a serious push for five-star status and it's because of his diverse game.
In addition to outstanding size for the wing, Robinson is an athlete with great length and a sweet jumper. He handles the ball with ease, is a racehorse in transition and uses sure hands to snatch contested rebounds after rising above the crowd. But he does have some things that need work.
"I definitely need to get stronger," Robinson said. "I'm working on my ball-handling and being sure that I'm making good decisions."
On the recruiting front, Robinson mentioned VCU as a school making a serious run at him. He's from the Richmond area and says that the Havoc style of play is appealing to him. Virginia Tech is another that he says is making a run at him and then after that there are myriad schools, including Notre Dame, Kansas, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Towson, Indiana, Miami, St. Joseph's, Georgetown and Rutgers, among others.
Robinson says he's not likely to decide soon. At this point he's in no hurry and has to firm up his school list before he can start thinking about a final destination.
