Robinson sets first official visit

Gerald Robinson is taking his time with the recruiting process in order to get a true feel for what schools are seriously interested. The 6-foot-0, 175-pound point guard from Martin Luther King High School in Antioch, Tenn., has one official visit scheduled at this time, but Robinson doesn't know when another visit will take place. There is no doubt that the three-star prospect has plenty of options.
"The only official visit that I have planned is to Tennessee State," said Robinson. "The visit will take place on September 1 and 2. George Mason and East Carolina have invited me in for official visits, but I haven't planned anything else yet. Coach Mike Anderson from Missouri sent me a text message and we are going to talk about a possible visit.

"I don't know if the visit to Missouri will be official or unofficial, but the coaching staff is talking about brining me in for a visit," he added. "My visit to Tennessee State is definitely going to happen, but after that, I have no idea what schools I am going to visit."
Throughout the spring and summer AAU circuit, Robinson received interest, from one degree or another, from the likes of Cincinnati, Clemson, Georgia, Kentucky, Memphis, Ole Miss, Missouri, Tennessee, Virginia, Chattanooga, East Carolina, George Mason and Tennessee State.
The No. 27 ranked shooting guard in the class of 2007 has scholarship offers from Chattanooga, East Carolina, George Mason and Tennessee State. However, because of Robinson's performance this summer with the Nashville Celtics, don't be surprised if he emerges as a legitimate high-major prospect throughout his senior campaign.
According to Robinson, he doesn't have a list of schools that he is seriously considering at this time. Robinson has decided to see what happens in the near future and, more importantly, is going to sit back and see what schools come calling.
"I don't have a real list of schools that I am considering because school just got started for me," said Robinson. "I am going to sit-down with my dad and put a real list of schools together before I make any other decisions. I want to enjoy the recruiting process, because it only happens once, so do know that I will use all five visits.
"Tennessee State is coming to my house on September 11 for an in-home visit," he added. "George Mason wants to come to my house as well. I am pretty wide-open right now, but hope to have a top five real soon. I will say that I don't want to go too far away from home. I want my family to see me play as much as possible."
