Robinson returns home to Chicago

When Rob Robinson left his Chicago home for a year of Prep School, he hoped it would earn him a division one scholarship. Wednesday night it earned him a scholarship and a trip home when he committed to Howard Moore's Illinois-Chicago program.
An athletic 6-foot-5 wing who is prepping at Delafield (Wisc.) St. John's Northwest Military Academy, Robinson's comfort level with Moore was the deciding factor.

"He felt comfortable with Howard Moore," said SJNW assistant Brian Clayton. "He can be a big piece in bringing the program to the top of the Horizon."
A slasher with toughness who can finish in transition, Robinson has worked hard to expand his game during a prep year. He's become a better shooter, has improved his ball handling and would like to ultimately play some as a shooting guard.
More than anything, though, Robinson is excited about the opportunity to play Division One ball in his hometown.
"He's a Chicago kid and he gets to play for a Chicago coach," said Clayton. "Kid couldn't be happier."
