Robinson: Its About The Facilities

Rice High School combo guard Russell Robinson, 6-foot-1, 180-pounds from New York City, finished up his summer with an appearance today in the Orange-White Five-Star All Star game in Honesdale, Penn. Robinson scored 14 points in helping the Orange win easily.
"You try to get as much as you can out of each camp," Robinson said after today's game. "You work as hard as you can."

Robinson is the focus of an intense recruiting battle. He has scheduled foiur visits -- Connecticut on September 12th-14th, Georgia Tech on September 19th-21st, Kansas on September 26th-28th, and Kentucky on October 17th-19th.
"I still may take another visit," Robinson said. Among the schools now involved for that possible fifth visit is St. John's, Florida State, Pittsburgh, or Ohio State. The Buckeyes are the latest school to make a serious run at Robinson, who is listed as the 30th best player in the Rivals150.
"I am interested in Ohio State," Robinson said. "But I haven't decided where and when I might take that fifth visit. I still don't have a leader. I just want to see how the visits work out before I make my decision."
Russell, like his dad, indicated that the facilities at the programs will possibly help him make up his mind. "It's important for me to make sure I can physically be as good as I can," Robinson said. "That's what I want to do when I get to college. I have never had great facilities to work with. So it's important in my decision."
Robinson heads back to school after Labor Day. He helped lead the New York Gauchos to wins in the Peach Jam tournament and the Super Showcase. In the Peach Jam event, it was Robinson's last second jumper that sealed the big title win. "I feel I have improved my overall game," he said. "But it's always something you try to improve each time you play or practice."
