Robinson Is A Smooth Athlete

When you talk about smooth, fluid athletes in the class of 2004, Russell Robinson's name should be one that surfaces.
The 6'3'' 175 pound shooting guard from Rice High School in Manhattan possesses a certain grace when he is on the court, whether he is floating through the lane for a leaner or pulling up from three. There is a certain effortlessness to Robinson's game that makes him fun to watch.

Robinson scored 18 points for Rice in a 72-68 loss to Archbishop Molloy in the CHSAA semifinals on Friday night. Russell knocked down a couple of threes, used the glass deftly, and floated through the lane for points. He has been forced to play some point because of injuries, having to sacrifice some scoring.
Robinson is a reliable shot from three with a fluid release. He is a bit on the rangy side, and will have to beef up down the road. However, he has good instincts and a nice feel for the game.
Georgia Tech assistant coach Dean Keener was on hand Friday night to evaluate Robinson. According to Robinson, the ACC program has offered, as has St. John's. Others who are in the picture include Kentucky, Louisville, Syracuse, and Villanova.
Robinson will compete with The New York Gauchos this summer. He will also attend the Nike Camp in July.
