Robinson: Has Top 2

It's becoming more clear that Russell Robinson, a top 50 player in the 2004 class, is going to move up on more recruiting lists over the next month. Robinson was simply terrific today at the Rumble in the Bronx at Fordham University. Robinson scored 39 points in helping the New York Gauchos advance to the championship game of the "Silver" consolation bracket today.
But the 39 points were not what Robinson was asked about after the game. Robinson, one of the toughest competitors on the high school level, is being highly recruited by several major programs. His decision will help elevate a school's future.

"Georgia Tech, St. John's, Kentucky, Florida, Kansas, Notre Dame, Connecticut, Syracuse, and Florida State are my schools on my list," Robinson said. "I am still open."
When Robinson was asked if there is a leader, he stated without hesitation: "Georgia Tech. UCONN is second."
Robinson, 6-foot-3 from Rice High School in New York City, did state that is not ready to make a decision. "I want to take my five visits in September when I get back in school," Robinson said. "I would like to see some schools on these visits."
Robinson did say he has taken a trip to Connecticut and St. John's -- unofficially. But there are seven other schools trying to land those official visits. "I don't know where I will visit," Robinson said. "I am just trying to focus on the summer and my play."
And his play has been pretty good. "I should have hit those last three foul shots," Robinson said. "That would have given me over forty."
Then he laughed. "I have to keep working harder."
