Robinson Goes West

There will be time later to make decisions involving his recruiting process. For now, Rice High School star guard Russell Robinson is on his way to California to participate at the Michael Jordan camp.
Robinson, who last competed in the Eastern Invitational All Star game on the campus of the College of New Jersey, had a fabulous summer -- a summer in which he helped lead the New York Gauchos to winning the Peach Jam tournament and the Super Showcase in Orlando, Florida.

While Robinson was at these events, many of the schools on his list watched him everyday. Among them: Georgia Tech, Connecticut, Kansas, Florida State, St. John's, and Kentucky.
Robinson has previously mentioned Notre Dame, Syracuse, and Seton Hall. These schools are still involved in the recruiting process. "I don't have a closed list," said Robinson, before he left for California today.
Pittsburgh and Arkansas are also making a run at Robinson. He wasn't sure if he would open up his race even more. "I just want to play for a team I can play right away and also have a chance to win," Robinson said.
Robinson is currently listed as 46th best player in the 2004 class in the Rivals150.
