Robinson focused on two

Gerald Robinson of Martin Luther King High School in Nashville, Tenn., caused quite a stir of mid-major and high-major interest with his play on the summer circuit with the Nashville Celtics. Now as the dust settles, two programs are battling over the 6-foot, 175-pound point guard.
Final four participant George Mason and home town school Tennessee State are both working hard to land the cat quick point guard, and Tennessee State does have an advantage with Robinson's father being in his 26th year as the university's head tennis coach.

"I had a great visit," said Robinson about his time on the TSU campus this weekend. "I spent a lot of time with the players and that went well. It probably wasn't like the typical visit because I'm already so familiar with the campus. But I did meet with the president and the academic counselor."
On September 21 Robinson will visit George Mason, and he doesn't want to rush to any conclusion until he takes that visit. There is also the possibility that a high-major school might make a late push for Robinson. Georgia is presently involved with him, but Robinson does not want to drag his recruitment into the spring in hopes of garnering a high-major offer.
"It's down to those two schools," he said. "I was thinking about waiting until the end of the seaon, but bigger schools like Clemson and Virginia are getting commitments, and I don't want to lose the opportunities I have right now. Georgia is talking to me and have mentioned me taking a visit there. The issue is that the head coach hasn't seen me play yet."
Georgia did have their 2007 point guard until Keegan Bell decommitted from the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs are still pursuing Bell and would prefer that Robinson delay his decision until the spring.
Robinson averaged 19 points, 5.5 assists, 4 rebounds and 2 steals per game as a junior.
