Robinson continues meteoric rise

MORE: Whitehead does best to match hype
Each spring, a few rising seniors seem to come from nowhere to burst onto the national scene. Devin Robinson hasn't come from nowhere, but his ascension to the top of the class of 2014 has been rapid.

A 6-foot-8 small forward at Christchurch (Va.) High, Robinson first made waves at last summer's Reebok Breakout Challenge. His performance earned him a spot as a ranked three-star in the Rivals150.
This spring and summer, Robinson has taken things to an entirely new level.
Thanks to a growth spurt, he shot up three inches since we saw him last summer. He experienced gains in athleticism, quickness and range on his shot to go with his increased height.
Robinson shoots with great range, he can get to the hole, and he is a very good passer. He needs more strength and to play with a bit more aggression, but the tools to be a high-end four-star to five-star player are in place.
Robinson will be on the road with the Squires Richmond during July, and this brief analysis video shows why he has offers from Auburn, Cincinnati, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Oklahoma State, VCU, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, Xavier and Notre Dame. Others, including Kansas, Louisville and Indiana, plan to track him in July.
