Robert Whites Recruiting Picks Up

Stocky 5-9, 170-point guard Robert White from
Canarsie High School in Brooklyn has been kept under

wraps for most of the season, as he doesn't star for
one of more recognizable teams in the New York City
Public League, but the braided lead guard has begun to
generate some Division I interest.
White, who recently scored 41 points against high
major target Gary Ervin from Robeson High School, has
heard from Quinnipiac, Howard, Colgate, and Central
Connecticut. He is thinking about visiting Howard
after the season ends.
White is an undersized but strong point man who
effectively distributes the ball but is opportunistic
offensively, capable of knocking down the long-range
jumper or scoring off the dribble. He has a solid
build and is strong off the dribble. White possesses
good vision and court awareness.
White is averaging 19 points and 7 assists for coach
Tom Allen at Canarsie. He is a good student, with a
2.8 GPA and has scored 1070 on the SAT. The affable
and well-mannered White told Rivals Hoops that he
would be willing to take the test again if it would
leave him in a better position to be accepted to a
particular college.
