Rivera Uproots to New JUCO

Joan (pronounced Joe-ahn) Rivera, a husky 6-8, 240 pound power forward/center from Southeastern C.C. in W. Burlington, Ia., transferred into the program after spending a year at Central Florida C.C. in Ocala, Fla.
Although he's not an athlete, Rivera is a southpaw who should be a very effective rebounder for the Blackhawks this winter. He seals very well on the glass thanks to his frame, and can occasionally hit the face up jumper.

Southeastern Asst. Coach Tim Walsh told Rivalshoops.com that Florida International has expressed an early interest in Rivera, who prepped at Miami Christian High School.
Rivera is expected to sign late, and Rivalshoops.com will keep you posted on his recruitment in the weeks to come.
