Rivals150 shooting guard makes his pick

First off, Rivals150 shooting guard Terence Davis had to decide whether to pursue hoops or football full time. After deciding he wanted to focus on basketball, it was time to pick a program and he did that on Tuesday.
A rising senior at Southaven (Miss.) High, the 6-foot-4 athlete decided to stay in state.

"I'm going to Ole Miss," Davis told Rivals.com. "It's a coaching staff that I like and I'm at home with them. Also iff you are going to do anything why not do it for your home state."
Athletic and tough, Davis currently ranks No. 128 in the 2015 Rivals150. Having not ever fully focused on hoops before, Davis feels that he has plenty of room to grow.
"They say that I have upside for my position," said Davis. "I'm not going to do anything but keep getting bigger and better and my feel is going to get better. I think I can score pretty much at will it is just a matter of getting bigger and focusing."
The decision to attend Ole Miss wasn't an easy one. In particular, Louisiana Tech and head coach Mike White made a great pitch. But, Davis is glad to have things out of the way.
"It's good to know where you are going and that you don't have to worry about losing offers or people taking your spot," said Davis. "The fans of the school are connected and I put on twitter today that I was going to pick and everybody was like Hotty Toddy and that's before I picked them."
Playing in the summers with Team Thad, Davis has showcased his athleticism and aggression. Team Thad coach Norton Hurd says that he is excited to see what Davis can do now that he is 100% focused on hoops.
"I think they are getting a pretty good player," said Hurd. "He can score and some people have said that he's not a three point shooter but my point is that he can still get 20. This is the first time that he's going to focus on basketball and now that he is going to be able to focus on basketball year round with individual work and weights and everything I think he has a high upside."
