Rivals150 member Okogie down to three schools

Snellville (Ga.) Shiloh small forward Josh Okogie saw his stock surge during the most recent travel season playing for Team CP3 in the Nike EYBL.
At the end of last high school season, the three-star prospect was working with a list that included mostly mid-major schools. By the end of July, he became a hot commodity for several high-major programs.

Last month, the Rivals150 member cut his list down to three schools: Georgia Tech, Kansas State and Tennessee. He took an official visit to each school with the most recent being a visit down the road to Georgia Tech.
"It was really good," Okogie said. "I enjoyed myself. There was no football game, so we had a lot more one-on-one time with the coaches and players. We toured some around Atlanta. We went out saw some places I never even knew about."
Coaches are obviously a big part of the recruiting process, but Brian Gregory's players also did their part to convince Okogie to stay home for college.
"I spent a lot of time with pretty much the whole team but especially Quinton Stephens, Adam Smith and Charles Mitchell," he said. "They told me it's a good idea to stay home. Some of them transferred back home from different schools."
Prior to visiting Georgia Tech, Okogie made his way out to Manhattan, Kan., to get a closer look at Bruce Weber's program.
"That went really well too," he said. "Manhattan is a small city with only like 55,000 people, but all those people are connected to the school. It's a college town. I enjoyed myself there. I felt the love for sure."
Tennessee went first on Okogie's official visit tour and set the bar high.
"Tennessee went really good," he said. "They gave me the 'wow' factor. I was really impressed with what I saw. They treated me like family and showed a lot of love. They treated me like royalty really. The football game there was crazy too."
With his official visits behind him, Okogie plans to take some time before making a decision. He's set to announce his college choice on Oct. 13 at Gwinnett County Media Day.
