Rivals150 junior Che Evans focused on six schools

One of the top junior wing prospects along the east coast, Che Evans is ready to take the next step with his college recruitment. The top-75 small forward, who was originally down to a list of ten schools, is now focused on a group of six, he told Rivals.com.

A 6-foot-6 small forward prospect that is valued most for his three-level scoring skills and the ability to guard multiple positions, Evans is now focused on a school list that includes Boise State, Florida, Ohio State, TCU, Texas Tech and UCLA.

IN HIS OWN WORDS

Boise State: “They have prioritized me from day one. Chandler Hutchinson has communicated with me often and their pro development is key. I see myself with a similar skillset as him coming out of high school which is big.”

Florida: “I love how their wings are allowed freedom to create scoring opportunities but also have the chance to facilitate. I know that they have a great 2019 class but I am willing to fight for minutes if they don’t go one-and-done. Also, Noah Locke is from my AAU program and is like a big brother to me.”

Ohio State: “I came away impressed with Coach (Chris) Holtmann’s vision for me as a wing and the development that they can offer me. I am planning on taking an official visit there after my high school season.”

TCU: “I visited TCU earlier and I kind of see the Big 12 as top of the food chain in terms of depth. Coach (Ryan) Miller who recruited me since my freshman year and I love how they get the most out of their talent.”

Texas Tech: “Coach (Chris) Beard and his staff have been consistent with me and I like their hands-on approach in developing talent. Tariq Owens is from the same AAU program as me and he is also in communication with me about them.”

UCLA: “The staff has been to my school twice this fall after offering me earlier on. The consistency of the staff with me and their NBA history is why I am considering them heavily.”

WHAT'S NEXT?

Evans has already taken official visits this fall to Boise State and Long Beach State, while also having the chance to get out to Ohio State, TCU and UCLA, the latter three coming in the unofficial variety.

While the plan now is for Evans to focus on his junior season, he is hoping that he can begin his visit tour again once his high school season is complete. From there, the Rivals150 junior may not be too far off from his college commitment where he is ahead of his peers with his recruiting process.

Wherever he eventually chooses, one should expect a good-sized wing that can make shots, defend a variety of positions and impact the game in a variety of ways.
