Rivals150 Jordan Phillips pledges to Arkansas

Arkansas has continued to add further firepower to its 2018 class as it landed the commitment of Rivals150 prospect Jordan Phillips on Sunday. A 6-foot-6 small forward and one of the more under-the-radar prospects from the south, Phillips brings great versatility, upside and a quality motor to the SEC program.

Selecting the Razorbacks over Fresno State, Georgetown and a handful of others, Phillips has the chance to develop into a key cog within Mike Anderson’s system. Capable of facilitating for his team, scoring out to the 3-point line, and defending multiple positions, Phillips’ versatility and upside should equate to a solid college playing career.

A member of the Dallas Showtyme travel unit, Phillips spoke to Rivals on what all he liked about the SEC program. “I just see us doing something special at Arkansas,” he said. “I believe, if we do what we’re supposed to do, we can be special. It was also important to be close to home.

Losing five central figures to its program after this season, Phillips should have the opportunity to earn immediate playing time in Fayetteville next year.

He becomes the fifth member of Arkansas’ 2018 recruiting class and the fourth Rivals150 commitment for the Hogs. He will join sharp shooting guard Isaiah Joe, playmaking guard Desi Sills, four-star guard Keyshawn Embery, and active and athletic power forward Ethan Henderson in creating a very strong and versatile five man group for Mike Anderson’s program this fall.
