Rivals150 big picks Tar Heels

RANKINGS: 2015 - 2016 - 2017
There hasn't ever been much secret about where Rivals150 power forward Luke Maye wanted to play his college ball. The son of a former North Carolina quarterback, Maye has always been a strong lean to the Tar Heels. The day before the early signing period began, Maye made it happen.

A 6-foot-7 senior at Cornelius (N.C.) Hough, Maye announced via his twitter that he had ended his recruitment Tuesday morning.
"I want to thank everybody who has been there for me and I am happy to say that I am Tar Heel!" tweeted Maye.
The No. 144 player in the Rivals150, Maye is a player who maximizes his skill and physical ability.
Though he isn't overly athletic and doesn't have great length, there is little question that Maye has a great feel for post play. He is comfortable setting up on either side of the block and does a great job of sealing defenders with his body. He can finish with either hand via jump hooks, has terrific footwork and has the ability to step out on the floor and make jump shots.
While Maye is a skilled scorer, perhaps his strongest attribute is his ability to rebound. The way he tracks loose balls and seems to know where every missed shot will go, it seems as if the ability to rebound the ball is in his DNA.
Moving forward, Maye will have to adjust to playing against the bigger and lengthier four men he is likely to encounter in the ACC and his shot selection could use some tweaking.
The first member of UNC's 2015 recruiting class, Maye chose the Tar Heels over finalists Davidson and Clemson.
