Thanks to his strong play on the grassroots circuit with Team Thad, Chris Chiozza had become one of the hottest targets in the class of 2014.

The 5-foot-10 point guard from Memphis (Tenn.) White Station could have taken his time and basked in the glory that a rising recruit can get.
Instead, during a Tuesday evening press conference at his high school, Chiozza ended the process just as it was really getting started. His choice: Florida.
Chiozza announced his decision in front of family, friends and local media and the news quickly spread that he'll be a Gator.
Quick, tough and capable of making plays off the dribble, Chiozza is somebody the Gators pursued vigorously of late. Billy Donovan has been known for letting his guards play and Chiozza is definitely a guy that needs to have some freedom.
However, his attacking style and fearlessness is something that Donovan usually covets. Donovan also covets guys that aren't afraid to go and make a play when it is all on the line and that's exactly the type of floor general Chiozza is. Others may be bigger, but few will play with the type of heart that he does.
Chiozza is the first member of the Gators 2014 recruiting class and has positioned himself to make a climb up the 2014 Rivals150 when it is next updated.
