Richmond Grabs Steenberge

On a team with high major talents like Todd Galloway and Carmelo Anthony, it was tough for Baltimore Select's Kevin Steenberge to get his touches at the adidas Big Time Tournament.
But that does not mean that the 6-9, 215 pound power forward cannot play. He certainly will be a player to watch on the college level.

Steenberge, who attends River Hill H.S. in Clarksville, Md., told the Insiders Report in early August that Richmond led for his services. The Spiders showed their faith in Kevin offering him an early scholarship. Kevin rewarded Richmond's faith by committing to the Spiders.
In addition to Richmond, Steenberge had been offered by and was at one time considering Dayton, LaSalle, St. Joseph's, Boston University, Delaware and Buffalo. Tulane and Xavier had also shown some interest.
Steenberge averaged 15 points, 15 rebounds and 6.8 blocks as a junior at River Hill. He said he has a 3.8 GPA and scored an 1170 on the SAT.
