Class of 2018 Rivals150 guard Will Richardson was one of the standout performers at the Holiday Hoopsgiving event in Atlanta last weekend. The lanky 6-foot-4 guard dropped 33 points in the first game and followed it up with 20 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and six steals on Saturday.Following his great showing in Atlanta, Arizona State and Georgia Tech came through with offers. They joined a list that already included Auburn, Georgia, Georgia Southern, UAB and Florida Gulf Coast. Butler, Stanford and Wake Forest are also showing heavy interest. So far, he’s taken unofficial visits to Auburn, Florida Gulf Coast, Georgia and Georgia Southern.

IN HIS OWN WORDS: Richardson broke down new offers, visits and interest from Stanford.

Arizona State: “I’ve been talking to them since the summer. They saw me in Vegas and liked me. They really want me to come out there for a visit.”

Auburn: “Auburn has a great atmosphere and I’ve been up there a lot with Davion Mitchell. I’ve talked to all the coaches there and Bruce Pearl has a great reputation.”

Georgia: “Georgia, they are a good program and a good SEC team. I’ve been there twice and I’m going up there on Sunday to see them play Marquette.”

Georgia Tech: “I was really excited about it. I had been talking to their coaches for a while. Coach [Josh] Pastner is a great coach. I’ve heard great things about him. They are really trying to build the program up there.”

Stanford: “Stanford talks to me like every other day. They are just waiting for me to take the ACT. They are one of the schools on me the hardest.”

WHAT’S NEXT?: As Richardson mentioned, the next move for him will be a visit to Georgia on Sunday afternoon. It’s likely that he’ll be taking other unofficial visits as well throughout the season as he’s been pretty active so far. Richardson doesn’t plan on deciding any time soon as he wants to play out his last travel season next year and look at all options before deciding.

RIVALS’ REACTION: Auburn and Georgia have put in the most work to date with Richardson. Both schools have had him on campus multiple times already. Both schools have a teammate of his in his ear. Auburn has four-star point guard signee Davion Mitchell pushing the Tigers, while Georgia has four-star football commit Richard LeCounte trying to sell him on the Bulldogs. Georgia Tech could become a factor in this one in a hurry as Pastner was sitting courtside for Richardson on Friday. Academics are a big deal here, so keep an eye on Stanford as well.
