Richard: I Am Staying Close To Home

Chris Richard, a 6-8, 225-pound forward from Kathleen High School in Lakeland, Florida, told us he will likely stay close to home. "I will either go to an instate school or to a state that touches Florida," Richard told us tonight. "There are other schools that are recruiting me but I am probably going to choose between four schools."
The four schools are Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Florida State. Richard told us he plans on attending the Auburn team camp this Thursday. Richard will then head to New York City to play in the Rumble in the Bronx on Saturday afternoon. RivalsHoops.com will have coverage of this event for you on this site.

"I have already visited Alabama, Florida, and Florida State," Richard said. "So I haven't seen Auburn yet. But I liked my other three visits. I could have a decision before July."
When asked if he was leaning to a particular school and close to making a commitment to that program, Richard said: "No, I am not. But I think Florida State helped themselves with their visit. I had already known a lot about Florida. But I didn't know too much about Florida State. Alabama is also of interest to me too after my visit there. It was nice seeing the campus. Now all I have to do is visit Auburn."
Chris is expected to compete this summer for John Adkins and his talented Tallahassee Wildcats AAU program. Adkins' team will compete in The Rumble In The Bronx.
Richard, who averaged 18 points, nine rebounds, and five blocks per game, told us previously he was also interested in Miami, Maryland, Indiana, North Carolina, and Connecticut too.
"I am going to stay close to home," Richard said again. "I don't want to go too far. I will choose between Auburn, Alabama, Florida, and Florida State."
