Rice, Loughlin Upend New Jersey Teams @Prime Time

TRENTON, N.J. -- A pair of New York City Catholic league powers, Rice and Bishop Loughlin, claimed double digit victories over Garden State opponents on Sunday at the Prime Time Shootout.
Rice used a late surge keyed by senior guard Steven Burtt, Jr., to upend Passaic H.S., 67-50.

Burtt scored 10 of his 14 points in a late fourth quarter spurt to blow the game wide open.
Clinging to a 49-48 lead with less than five minutes to play in the game, the Raiders slapped a 17-0 run on Passaic to win going away.
Burtt started the run with a three pointer, and hit a second one later in the surge with 1:20 to play that gave Rice a 63-48 lead.
The Raiders led by as many as 11 points in the first half, but the Indians scrapped away and trailed by just five points at the half.
A pair of free throws from Jafaar Johnson brought the Indians to within a point at 49-48 before Rice mounted its final charge to put it out of reach.
Sophomore forward Arturo DuBois was also impressive for the Raiders, adding 14 points. The senior backcourt of Jason Wingate (10 points) and Keydren Clark (12 points) also made key contributions.
Kaleef Willis turned in an outstanding offensive performance with 22 points, but he was the lone Passaic player to hit double figures.
One of Rice's foes in the CHSAA, Bishop Loughlin H.S. of Brooklyn, opened the action on Sunday at the Prime Time with an 80-44 blow-out victory over Clifton H.S.
Villanova bound Curtis Sumpter (right) needed just three quarters to amass 23 points, as the Lions led 69-34 after 24 minutes of play.
Loughlin Head Coach Ted Gustus emptied his bench in the game, and 11 Lion players hit the scoring column in the lopsided affair.
Other key contributors included junior swingman Kirk Bunn (nine points), and junior guards Courtney Johnson and Andrew Wright (eight points apiece).
Albert Torres led Clifton with 12 points and sharp-shooter Amaury Casillas added 10. Highly touted sophomore shooting guard Devon Moffatt was limited to just eight points for the Mustangs.
