Rhode Islands scores with Rivals150 combo forward

It's been one heck of a weekend for Danny Hurley and the Rhode Island basketball program.
On Saturday, the Rams received a commitment from four-star combo guard E.C. Matthews. Sunday, they added another Rivals150 player when Hassan Martin popped for the Rams.

The No. 134 player in the country, the 6-foot-7 forward from Staten Island (N.Y.) Curtis said that the Rams made him feel that the program is on the rise.
"The coaches made me feel what a special place Rhode Island can be," Martin told Rivals.com. "I bonded with the team and I feel I will be around good people that I can trust."
A bit of an unknown headed into last spring, Martin changed that with a big spring and summer playing for NYC based New Heights.
He's an athletic combo forward who sprints the floor, scores between the rim and 17 feet, and has a non-stop motor. That motor makes him a very good rebounder and an ideal fit for the A-10.
"I feel I'm bringing my athleticism, length and ability to run the floor," said Martin. "I want to become an impact three-man."
In Matthews and Martin, the Rams now have one heck of a start to their recruiting class.
