Reid Staying in State

Ryan Reid knew he was going to stay in the state of Florida to play college basketball but it just came down to a matter of what school. The 6-foot-8, 215-pound forward from Boyd Anderson High School took an official visit last weekend and decided soon after that he knew where he wanted to play.
Matt Ramker, one of Reid’s coaches with the Tallahassee Wildcats, told Rivals.com that the No. 77 ranked player in the nation by Rivals.com will play at Florida State University. Ramker said it was a tough decision.

“It was neck and neck with Miami and Florida State,” Ramker said. “Both schools did an excellent job recruiting him and at the end of the day, Florida State got the job done. But Miami did a great job of recruiting him and I know Ryan had a hard time making his decision because both schools are really good choices.”
Reid is the first recruit for Leonard Hamilton and his staff in the class of 2005. Ramker said Reid would help the Seminoles inside the paint right away.
“Ryan’s going to help them out with whatever they need him to do, that’s the kind of player he is,” Ramker said. “He just wants to win games. If that means he’ll need to come inside and rebound, that’s what he’s going to do. If they need him to score inside, he’s going to bust his tail to get it done.”
Florida State hosted Reid over the weekend for an official visit. Junior forward Alexander Johnson served as his host.
