Reid Down to Four

The enforcer for the Tallahassee Wildcats this summer was bruising power forward Ryan Reid. Reid, 6-foot-8, 215-pounds, from Boyd Anderson High School in Lauderdale Lakes, Fla., is the kind of hard working player that a lot of high majors would love to have, but right now he is down to four schools.
“Pittsburgh, Florida State, Miami, and Florida are the schools I am looking at for right now,” said Reid. “I will visit Pittsburgh on August 28, and I will visit Florida State on September 23. I am working on setting up dates for Miami and Florida.”

When choosing a school, Reid, who wants to major in Sports Medicine, will be looking closely at the academic support system.
“I am looking to see if they give you a fifth year to graduate and what kind of study halls they have set up,” said Reid. “I am also interested in what kind of one-on-one academic support they have.”
Reid, the No. 77 ranked player in the class of 2005, also commented on his four favorites.
“I have always liked Pittsburgh. It is a good program, and I have heard a lot of good things about them. I want to visit and see how it is. They must be really serious about me because they have called a lot.
“Coach Hamilton is a good coach. He has coached in the NBA, and Florida State has been following me for a long time.
“I don’t know much about the new coach, but I have heard good things about him. He has been on me since he got to Miami.
Florida also has a good coach. I have always liked the Gators and the way they play. They push the ball and let the big men step out and shoot.”
Reid has already qualified and plans to make a decision this Fall.
He is a bruising power forward who specializes in defending and rebounding. Although more of a blue collar player than a high flying athlete, Reid has a solid skill set for a power forward. Physically, he is ready to play right away at the high major level.
