Recruitment of Nolley surges following tremendous spring

HAMPTON, Va. – Every year, an unknown enters the national picture from the Peach State and enhances his resume on the travel circuit. While Landers Nolley began to emerge during his junior year of high school ball, his time this spring has brought in a number of scholarship offers, cementing his case as an upper-level Rivals150 prospect in the 2018 class.

Standing over 6-foot-6 and with a good feel for the game, Nolley’s game is built upon his shot making skills. Seeing that shooters with size and toughness have drawn all the rage of late, the Langston Hughes High standout has begun to hear from the best throughout the east coast and down south.

“All of them are calling every day. It is just fair ground,” Nolley said. “Off the top of my head, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida Gulf Coast, UConn, Texas, Virginia Tech and Virginia; just a lot of schools.”

Nolley spoke briefly on a few of the schools that he is hearing from.

Georgia: “The program, it is just beautiful. The coaching staff works hard to get me. The players that they have actually recruited like Rayshaun Hammonds, that all plays a big role in making my decision.”

Georgia Tech: “The ACC is always good. For them to do that in the first year, that is very impressive. Depending on the type of players that they’re going to get, there is no telling what they can do in the future.”

UConn: “Up north, that is where I played last year. Just going back up there and playing in a different conference and to play for him (Kevin Ollie), that would be beautiful.”

Florida State: “They have a lot of guards that look like me with Malik Beasley, Dwayne Bacon and (Jon) Isaac.”

Virginia Tech: “That class they have coming it, it is going to be a scary sight. Plus, what they already have and with the coaching, that is going to be tough.”

WHAT'S NEXT?

Nolley will finish out the remaining few weeks of his travel career on the adidas circuit running with the Team Loaded NC 17-under team.

When it comes to cutting things down and deciding on a school, Nolley plans to trim his list in October and commit later in the fall following his official visits.

RIVALS' REACTION

Look for the majority of the SEC and ACC to further prioritize Nolley. Thanks to his shot making, toughness and size off of the ball, he has the chance to make an immediate impact on the college level. Florida State has done wonders in recent years pulling out the best from the Peach State while Georgia and Georgia Tech are two other formidable landing spots for the Rivals150 junior wing.
