Jason Bohannon, the 6-foot-3, 170-pound combo guard from Linn-Mar High School in Marion, Iowa., is currently receiving interest from a large number of high major basketball institutions. While the No. 100 ranked player in the class of 2006 is planning to consider all of his options, it appears that Bohannon will take a visit to one of the schools on his list during the month of January.
“Stanford, NC State, Connecticut and Michigan State are the newest schools to become involved in my recruitment,” Bohannon said. “Stanford has already been by to watch me practice and NC State has called several times. Illinois has been calling a lot lately and would like to get more involved in my recruitment, so that is something that I am definitely going to consider.”
Aside from the aforementioned schools, Bohannon is also receiving interest from the likes of Iowa, Kansas, Purdue, Wisconsin and Northern Iowa. The No. 23 ranked point guard in the class has received scholarship offers from Iowa, Wisconsin and Northern Iowa.
As it stands right now, Bohannon is wide-open when it comes to his recruitment, but was quick to admit that one school in particular has definitely attracted his attention.
“I am planning to take a visit to Stanford in January,” Bohannon said. “Now that I have received my SAT score, I can finally begin to apply to the school. Stanford has done an outstanding job recruiting me, and I really like the program and coaching staff.
“Iowa and Wisconsin are two other schools that I am really interested in right now,” he added. “Both schools have offered scholarships and both have been recruiting me for a long time. I guess I would say that all the schools are pretty much even right now, but Stanford is definitely a school that I have a lot of interest in.”
