Recruiting Process in Full Swing for Meeks

Numerous coaches have traveled to Norcross (Ga.) High School to watch the No. 36 ranked player in the class of 2006 Jodie Meeks workout. The 6-foot-4, 197-pound shooting guard has a long list of quality schools and has already taken some unofficial visits.
"Im interested in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, Georgia Tech, Florida, Auburn, Colorado, North Carolina, Clemson, and Kentucky,” said Meeks. “I’m still wide open. Right now Clemson is the only school to offer."

Meeks has already visited Clemson and Georgia, and he will visit Auburn this weekend. His most recent visit to Alabama went extremely well.
"I liked it a lot,” he said. “The coaches seemed real nice. I had a chance to spend five hours with them. I liked the campus a lot. It seemed like there was a lot to do."
Meeks is not the only one traveling during his recruiting process. Several schools have made their way to Norcross, Ga., to watch him in action.
"Coaches from Colorado, Georgia Tech, Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida State have been by my school over the last couple weeks,” he said. “Clemson was going to come but couldn’t because of the hurricane."
Meeks had a strong summer for a very good Georgia Stars 16-under team. Rivals.com got a very good look at him during the Nike Hoop Jamboree, where he displayed the ability to score points in a variety of ways. He has a strong basketball IQ and very good size and athleticism for the shooting guard position.
He is also developing his ability to handle the ball as a point guard and to defend the point guard position. Already a quality high major prospect, Meeks will be an elite prospect if he develops as a point guard.
