Recruiting action for Jackson

As one of the biggest players in Colorado, Martell Jackson has become an intriguing player for some of the top basketball programs in the West. The 6-foot-9, 260-pound big man from Brighton (Colo.) High School has a handful of schools evaluating him this season.
Jackson is averaging 15 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks for Brighton High (17-6) on the year and has his sights set on the first round of the state playoffs, which begin on Wednesday.

"I'm playing pretty good. I've been doing better things than I did last year. Pretty much my rebounding is the most noticeable thing. I've been doing a better job of finding guys and blocking them out and getting the ball down the floor."
Jackson said coaches from Colorado, Colorado State, Denver, Gonzaga and Wyoming have been in to see him play this season while Iowa and South Carolina have been staying in touch with letters.
While he maintains there aren't any favorites or scholarship offers to this point, Jackson said he knows what he wants in a future college home.
"I'm looking for a college that will give me a chance to play and help me improve my skills," Jackson said. "I want to get better at what I do so I want someone to help me succeed in that and get a good education."
Jackson said he would like to stay in the West if the opportunity presents itself.
"I think I'm going to wait until my senior year to do anything," Jackson said.
