Record night for Sestokas

Unsigned senior Zygis Sestokas had a shooting night of a lifetime, scoring 76 points in a blowout win for Satesville Christian (N.C.) High school. The 76 points by the 6-foot-5, 190-pound shooting guard from Lithuania broke the North Carolina high school single game scoring record formerly set by Statesville Christian's Edwin Ofori-Attah, who is now a freshman at William & Mary.
"I have never witnessed a shooting performance like the one Zygis put on tonight," said Statesville Christian head coach John Jordan. "He hit his first six three point attempts, was getting put backs and running the floor with reckless abandon. At halftime he had 38 points. Sestokas who had a relatively calm 13 points in the third quarter ignited again in the fourth going 6-7 from the three-point line and scoring an incredible 25 points. At this point it became a spectacle to watch as anywhere from one to three defenders were hanging on him on every shot. When it was all said and done he ended the game with 76 points."

Along with his 76 points, Sestokas also recorded 11 rebounds and 6 assists in 30 minutes of play.
The College of Charleston was in attendance at the record setting performance. No offers are yet on the table for Sestokas, but he does have official visits scheduled for Oral Roberts and Chattanooga.
Sestokas, who has a 3.7 GPA and a score of 960 on the SAT, came into the game only averaging 12 points per game.
Doneal Mack, the No. 109 ranked player in the class of 2006[/db] leads Statesville Christian is scoring with 25 points per game.
