Rambo Highlights Class

Arkansas State Head Coach Dickie Nutt (right) picked up a real-life Rambo and two other junior college guards during the spring signing period.
Antonio Rambo, a 5-10, 160 pound shooting guard from Southwestern Illinois College chose ASU over Southern Illinois, Eastern Illinois and Kentucky Wesyleyn.

Reporter Russ Blake wrote earlier, "Rambo reads screens well, so that, combined with his quickness, makes him an offensive threat from almost anywhere on the floor. He has a quick trigger on the pull-up jumper, and jitterbug moves that he uses to maneuver around defenders."
Rambo averaged 18.9 points and 4.7 assists per game as a sophomore this season and was selected a second-team All-American the last two years. He prepped at Memphis' Hamilton High School.
Tevoris Thompson was recruited by East Carolina, Clemson, Eastern Kentucky, Tennessee-Chattanooga and Southwest Missouri State before selecting Arkansas State.
Thompson averaged 21.5 points per game and was named NJCAA Region 16 co-Player of the Year as a sophomore. He prepped at Wade Hampton High School in Greenville, SC.
The third guard joining Nutt's 2002-03 roster is Dewarick Spencer, a 6-4, 175 pound combo guard from Faulkner State College in Bay Minette, AL. Spencer averaged 22 points per game as sophomore at FSCC. He played at Iowa Western Community College as a freshman. He's a native of Mobile, AL.
One other newcomer will be joining the 2002-03 roster. Paris London, a 6-8 240 pound power forward, transferred to ASU from the University of Memphis and will have one year of eligibility left. Like recruit Antonio Rambo, London prepped at Memphis' Hamilton High School.
