Racers win with Daniel

Edward Daniel, a 6-foot-7 forward from Birmingham (Ala.) Woodlawn, is headed to the Ohio Valley Conference. The three-star forward committed on Monday.
The bouncy forward said he liked the direction Billy Kennedy has the Racers moving in and is ready to be a part of a program on the upswing.

"I really like their program. The thing that I liked the most was they cared more about me and my academics than they did with basketball," Daniel said. "They helped me realize what I need to do in order to be successful."
Daniel is the second player to commit to the Racers this week in the class of 2009. He joins fellow three-star prospect Colin Slotter in the class for Kennedy and staff. Daniel is a high-flying forward that shines above the rim. He said he hopes to show off his natural abilities right away.
"My high school runs the same kinds of things on offense and defense. We like to get up and down," Daniel said. "Coach said he thinks I'll play a big part in their team and I should be an impact player as a freshman."
Daniel also considered UT-Chattanooga and Coastal Carolina.
