Quiande Moore Drawing Some Attention

Quiande Moore, a scintillating 6-2, 190 pound swingman from Southwest Missouri State/West Plains J.C. in West Plains, Mo., has drawn some attention with his above the rim play this season for the Grizzlies.
Moore averages 13.2 points per game this season for Tom Barr's Grizzly program. Barr said that Moore is a tremendous athlete who does not possess a great feel for the game.

A background in track and field might explain why Moore's athleticism is so eye-popping in a sport (basketball) known for producing many fine athletes.
Barr told JUCO Junction/Rivalshoops.com that Moore will only have one year of eligibility should he elect to attend a Division I school. Right now, Tennessee-Martin has expressed the most interest in Moore.
If he attends a Division II school, Moore could have two years to play basketball. He could do both -- attend a D-I for one year, then transfer to a D-II to play his final year of eligibility.
Moore's clock started back in 1998-99, when he elected to attend Iowa State on a track scholarship. He was out of school in 1999-2000, and then attended Chaffey J.C. in California last year.
Barr said that Moore did not play basketball at Chaffey last year, which gave him this year to play at West Plains. This is Moore's fourth year out of high school, and NCAA Division I rules stipulate that a student-athlete has five years to utilize his four years of athletic eligibility.
Barr said that Moore will be a summer graduate at the earliest, and JUCO Junction will keep you posted on his status in the coming months.
