Chicago, Ill - The top high school basketball players from around the country were on hand for the McDonald's All-American Game media day today at the United Center. Rivals.com caught up with Duke commit Wendell Carter to get his thoughts on where things stand with Trevon Duval, Mohamed Bamba and Kevin Knox and expectations for the team next year.

What are you most looking forward to in the McDonald's All-American Game Wednesday night?

I’m just looking forward to being on TV and having fun. There are a lot of good guys on our team, the East team. I don’t expect anything less then a W. I don’t care how we get it, just as long as we win.

You already have Gary Trent Jr. coming in as the two-guard and Trevon Duval is still up for grabs. What are you saying to him to get him to join you guys at Duke and what do you think your chances are?

I really do like our chances. I don’t want to say he’s committing to Duke or anything but I think we’re on a good trail with him. I’m talking to him every day, you know FaceTiming him, everything. I’m not trying to annoy him but I’m really just making sure he knows Duke really wants him.

What about Mo Bamba and Kevin Knox?

Mo’s my roommate out here for the week so you know I’m on him hard right now. And with Kev, I know he’s a great shooter and we’re losing Jayson Tatum next year and I really feel like he can come in a fill that role right away.

What will you be bringing to the team next year?

I think I can bring a lot of energy to the team and I just want to get out there and contribute wherever I can. Whether that’s rebounding or scoring in the low post. I feel like I have a good low post game and Coach (Mike) Krzyzewski and all the coaches really are just going to push me to get better.

Any game specifically you’re looking forward to or any match ups you want next year?

That’s a tough one. If we end up playing Kentucky at all next year, I’m definitely looking forward to that. I’ll mark that on my calendar after this interview right now if that’s the case. But of course the North Carolina match up. Those are always great games and the fans really get into it so I just can’t wait to play in that kind of atmosphere.
