Matt Haarms placed his name into the Transfer Portal last week and immediately became one of the most coveted transfers of the offseason. Since then, he has spoken to close to 60 different universities but has made the decision to cut his list to a group of ten.

A graduate-transfer that spent the beginning of his career at Purdue, Haarms is the most experienced and proven center found within the portal. His value cannot be understated which is why his final school list boasts some of the top names in the sport which consists of Arizona, Arkansas, Boston College, BYU, Gonzaga, Kentucky, Memphis, Minnesota, Texas Tech and UNC-Greensboro.

Haarms made it a point to speak with every college that reached out to him in extinguishing all of his options for the fall. He will have one year of eligibility remaining which he will complete in the 2020-2021 season.

The Netherlands native started 40 games throughout his three-year career at Purdue. He has averaged at least two blocks per game in each season. As a junior, he averaged 8.6 points and 4.6 rebounds, while making 52-percent of his shots from the floor.

The 7-foot-3 center could be the final piece to any of his finalists’ rosters for next season as its primary backline defender and as an interior producer that finishes and rebounds. A decision is expected before the end of the month, though Haarms will be unable to take any visits due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
