Purdue snag rising shooter

Three-star prospect Ryne Smith caught the attention of coaches at the adidas It Takes 5IVE Classic. Not long afterwards, the 6-foot-3, 170-pound shooting guard from Toledo (Ohio) Whitmer is headed to the Big Ten.
Smith, who had multiple 30 plus games in the event, committed to Purdue after an unofficial visit to the campus.

"Ryne had a great visit," said his father and high school coach Bruce Smith. "Everyone involved with the university did a great job showing us the opportunities for Ryne."
Smith had a number of mid-major offer going into the adidas event after his strong play in Akron, Ohio, at the King James Event in April. Big Ten and Big East schools began to pursue him in July.
Very adept with the basketball, Smith can get his shot off with regularity against heavy defensive attention. And along with his handles and extremely accurate shot, Smith also has a competive mind driving his game.
