Purdue now has a trio in 2013

Purdue and head coach Matt Painter have been busy on the recruiting trail. Wednesday night, the Boilermakers received their third commitment from the class of 2013 when Basil Smotherman called them to say he was ending his recruitment.
A four-star prospect at Indianapolis (Ind.) Heritage Christian, Smotherman is a skilled 6-foot-5 small forward with tremendous upside.

A member of the Eric Gordon All-Stars summer team, Smotherman is an excellent shooter with feel for the game. He works free away from the ball, has an excellent high post game and a body that will fill out nicely over the next few years.
Smotherman joins fellow in-state prospect Bryson Scott and Illinois shooting guard Kendall Stephens in Purdue's 2013 recruiting class.
