Pruitt Schedules Visits To MSU, IL

Shaun Pruitt is nearing the ending stages of his recruitment. The 6-foot-8, 220-pound power forward from West Aurora High School in Aurora, IL., has scheduled official visits to Michigan State and Illinois. Pruitt leaves for East Lansing on Friday and will then visit Illinois during the first weekend of September. It’s likely that Pruitt will make a decision about his future a week after his final visit.
“Shaun is leaving from Michigan State tomorrow (Friday) for an official visit,” Mr. Pruitt said. “He will then visit Illinois during the weekend of September 5. Arizona wanted him to come out for a visit, but Shaun decided he wanted to stay in the Midwest.

“There are no favorites right now, as this has been a tough decision for Shaun,” he added. “Both schools are even right down the middle, but I imagine he will make a commitment a week after his official visit to Illinois.”
Much like Arizona, other schools have tried to get Pruitt in for a visit, but unless something drastic happens, he’ll be playing his college ball for Coach Izzo or Coach Weber.
“I really don’t see Shaun taking any more official visits after these two visits are complete,” Mr. Pruitt said. “I guess there’s always that chance, but something out of the ordinary would have to happen.”
Pruitt previously stated that everybody close to him as an opinion in terms of what school he should attend, but Pruitt isn’t hearing any of that. When the time comes for a decision to be made, he will do what’s best for him.
“The people around me say I should attend Illinois, but I don’t have any favorites right now,” Pruitt said. “I like both schools and I can tell selecting a school will be a difficult process.
“Both schools have done a great job recruiting me,” he added. “Illinois and Michigan State are both great programs, but there will be a time when I must make a decision and the time is nearing.”
Rivals.com ranks Pruitt No. 76 on the Rivals150 list and the 19th best power forward in the class of 2004.
