Providence kicked off its 2018 class with a bang on Sunday thanks to the commitment of AJ Reeves, one of the top perimeter shooters in the country. Reeves, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard, selected the Friars over offers from Virginia, Villanova and Louisville.
Reeves' commitment is a huge addition for the Friars. He is a knockdown shooter with an over 35-inch vertical and should create major headaches on the perimeter.
The four-star prospect played alongside incoming Providence freshman Makai Ashton-Langford last summer on the travel circuit, and the duo should be able to pick up where things left off. While Reeves is more of a scoring threat off the ball, his shot making skills should enable for easier, more open driving lanes for Ashton-Langford.
The Friars are not done yet for 2018 as they remain heavily invested in the recruitment of David Duke.
