Providence scores late addition for 2010

It was a big week for 2010 guards from Tucson picking schools to enroll in as freshman this fall. First it was Tucson Pueblo's Mike Perez picking UTEP early in the week. Sunday night, it was Bryce Cotton of Tucson (Ariz.)Palo Verde who took himself off the board by picking Providence.
An athletic six foot guard capable of playing either the point or the two, Cotton averaged just under 24 points and over seven rebounds a game as a senior.

During the summer, Cotton had a noteworthy run with the Arizona Dream Team at the Fab 48 where he caught the attention of several schools including Boston College, Michigan, St. John's, Indiana State, Seattle and others.
Initially slated to attend junior college, Cotton received late clearance from the NCAA Clearinghouse which will allow him to enroll as a member of the class of 2010. He's expected to sign scholarship papers within the next few days and arrive in Providence before the week ends.
