Prep school and then the Big 12 for Crocker

The last few days have been bittersweet for Tony Crocker. First the 6-foot-5, 190-pound wing player led his Warren High School team from San Antonio, Texas, to the Region Finals last Saturday. Unfortunately, Warren lost a heartbreaking 43-40 game to Reagan High School. Yet this morning, Crocker received an official offer from a Big 12 school and has made a verbal commitment.
"Tony verballed to Oklahoma today," said Crocker's AAU coach Brandon Graham of the San Antonio Celtics. "They offered him this morning and he went ahead and committed.

"He is extremely excited. It's been a dream of his since he was little to play for the Sooners."
Still working to qualify academic, Crocker is planning to go to prep school next year before enrolling at Oklahoma.
Coach Graham expects Crocker to contribute immediately to the Sooners' basketball program.
"I think he'll be competitive in the Big 12 and should come in and play his first year," said Graham. "Tony is a talented kid, and with an extra year of AAU ball and prep school, he will only get stronger and even better."
Coach Graham named Texas, Texas A&M, Florida, Baylor, Colorado State and Pittsburgh as the other schools that Graham was considering.
"They all had pretty much offered except for Florida," said Graham.
Crocker averaged 22 points and 10 rebounds per game for Warren High School, which finished with a 33-6 record.
