It was a long, drawn-out recruitment for Alex Poythress, but the five-star prospect has settled on a SEC school. And that school isn't in his home state.

Poythress, a 6-foot-8 power forward from Clarksville (Tenn.) Northeast High School, will cross the state border and play his college basketball for Kentucky.
The Wildcats outlasted Florida, Memphis and Vanderbilt to land Poythress, who is excited about developing his game under John Calipari.
"It was a really tough decision," Poythress told Rivals.com. "I just felt I could get better as a player at Kentucky, and I was comfortable there.
"Their player development is impressive, and I'll be able to practice against the best players in the country.
"I wanted competition."
The No. 19-ranked prospect in the Rivals150, Poythress joins shooting guard Archie Goodwin (ranked No. 12) and center Willie Cauley (ranked No. 39) in the Kentucky recruiting class.
Poythress' signing catapults Kentucky from No. 11 in the national team recruiting rankings to No. 3 behind only Arizona and Indiana.
