Post signing day tidbits

There were not any big surprises on the first day of the early signing period, but here is a recap of Wednesday's news.
One down, another to go?

Coach Sutton and Oklahoma State got their man Wednesday when James Anderson opted for the Cowboys over Kansas. Now Oklahoma State hopes that Jai Lucas will follow. The four-star point guard will sign with either Oklahoma State, Kentucky, Oklahoma or Maryland towards the end of the early signing period.
News from the Northwest
Washington landed Darnell Gant, but the Huskies might not receive a Letter of intent from Isaiah Thomas in the spring as he works on his academic situation.
Why the decommitment?
Just prior to the early signing, four-star guard Rico Pickett decommitted from Alabama, but he never visited another school and then signed a letter-of-intent early Wednesday morning with the Crimson Tide.
Other non-committed signees
Ole Miss gets a point guard in Chris Warren.
Josh Owens is headed to Stanford.
Temple lands local post player Lavoy Allen.
No. 1 conference to add on?
Nothing has happened yet, but there is a lot of talk about Eric Wallace potentially signing with Ohio State and Jordan Crawford signing with Indiana. Indiana is also working on DeAndre Thomas, a junior college teammate of Indiana signee Jamarcus Ellis, as a spring signee.
Mayo on hold
Huntington (W.V.) High School coach Lloyd McGuffin doesn't expect his new star player O.J. Mayo to sign any papers anytime soon. USC and Kansas State are the two schools actively recruiting Mayo, but pursuing a path other than college for a year before he enters the NBA is also a possibility for Mayo.
