Pope lists six schools

Multidimensional forward Herb Pope from Aliquippa (Pa.) High School is putting up impressive numbers across the board this season, nearly averaging a triple-double. Pope, 6-foot-8, 233 pounds and a former Pittsburgh commitment, gave Rivals.com his updated school list of six schools.
"I'm interested in Connecticut, Illinois, Louisville, Pittsburgh, North Carolina and Texas," said Pope, the No. 7 ranked prospect in the class of 2007. "I'm really not sure exactly who has offered. I haven't asked yet."

Averaging 19 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 blocks per game for his 15-2 team, Pope did not go into specifics about why he decommitted from Pittsburgh, but he did give an indication of what he is seeking as a college player.
"I decommitted from Pittsburgh because I wanted to keep my options open and explore other options," he said. "I want to find a school that will let me bring the ball up and court or play in the post. I want to go somewhere that will let me play anywhere I want on the court."
With the talent to play most anywhere on the court, Pope is focused on developing the entirety of his game.
"I need to keep getting stronger before I go to college," he said. "On the court I am basically working on my entire game."
Pope, who has a 2.6 GPA, will take the SAT at the end of this month.
