Pondexter planning other visits

After taking an unofficial visit to Arizona during the weekend of Midnight Madness, it looked like Quincy Pondexter would give a verbal commitment to the Wildcats shortly thereafter. However, after seeing a number of new schools become involved in his recruitment, the 6-foot-7, 185-pound small forward from Memorial High School in Fresno, Calif., has decided to consider all of his options.
“I would say that Arizona is still the leader in my recruitment, but I have decided to take some visits and will consider all of my options,” Pondexter said. “My unofficial visit to Arizona was great and it’s a school that I am definitely interested in. Making a decision after just one visit wouldn’t allow me the opportunity to consider all of my options, so I plan to take at least two more unofficial visits before making a decision.”

Aside from Arizona, schools such as Kansas, Kentucky, Oregon, UCLA, Washington and Oklahoma have shown an interest in the No. 61 ranked player in the class of 2006. It has become quite clear that Pondexter would like to end his recruitment sooner rather than later, which is why he has decided to take several unofficial visits.
“Kansas, Oklahoma, Washington and Oregon are the schools I would like to unofficially visit,” Pondexter said. “I probably won’t visit more than two of those schools before making a decision. I think three visits will allow me to make the best decision."
Pondexter made it perfectly clear that Kansas is one school he plans to visit, but stated that no visit date had been set.
As a sophomore at Memorial High School, Pondexter averaged 21.0 points, 8.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game.
