Pondexter focused on three

Coming off a strong summer playing for the stacked EBO AAU club, Quincy Pondexter sits at the No. 50 spot in the Rivals150 and three schools sit at the top of his list. After Pondexter, a 6-foot-7, 195-pound small forward from Memorial High School in Fresno, Calif., visits each school in September, he will either make a commitment or schedule more visits.
"My top three are Washington, Connecticut and Memphis," said Pondexter. "Right now they are all even."

With a visit scheduled for Connecticut on the first weekend of September, Pondexter will visit his other top schools on the following consecutive weekends.
"After the three visits, I'll sit down with my family and weigh the situation," he said. "Then I will decide if I'm ready to commit or need to take more visits."
Kentucky, Oregon and Tennessee are schools on Pondexter's second tier, but if he finds a feeling of home in one of his first three visits, expect a commitment.
"I'm looking for a place I feel comfortable, a home away from home," he said. "It doesn't have to be close to home, but a place that feels like home."
This summer Pondexter shot the ball well from the outside to go along with his high level of athleticism. He has made definite strides in developing and refining his skills as a small forward.
"I'm still working hard on my consistency from the perimeter," he said. "I'm also working in the weight room to get bigger."
