Point Guard Farmar Trims List To Four

The end is nearing for Jordan Farmar. The 6-foot-2, 170-pound point guard from Taft High School in Woodland Hills, California recently trimmed his list and only four schools remain.
“UCLA, Arizona, Florida and Gonzaga are the final four schools on my list,” Farmar said. “Arizona Coach Lute Olson came to visit me last Tuesday and UCLA Coach Ben Howland was here on Wednesday.

“Coach Howland offered me a scholarship right away,” he added. The Bruins just got a commitment from Arron Afflalo and they want he and I to play in the backcourt together. UCLA is a school that I’m seriously considering.”
Farmar is scheduled to take an official visit to Florida next month. It is the only campus he hasn’t visited and, assuming he sticks to his schedule, a decision could be made after the visit is complete.
“I’m going to visit Florida on May 16th,” he said. “I’m trying to get the visit done on May 9th because I’m scheduled to play in a tournament, but if I can’t get the visit switched, I just won’t play.
“I’m really looking forward to visiting Florida,” he added. “I’ve never been to Florida and I think it will be a fun trip.”
Two schools, Stanford and Kansas, were dropped earlier in the week.
“Stanford and Kansas are no longer on my list,” he said. “I don’t know if the new coach at Kansas will make a difference. I really liked them because of Roy Williams, so I don’t think a new coach will matter that much.”
UCLA, Arizona, Florida and Gonzaga couldn’t be in better position. I would give the nod to UCLA because of location and the opportunity to play with friends.
Farmar knows that a time will come when he must make a decision about his future, but he’s not in a big hurry to get that done.
“I’m just going to have a good time,” he said. “I leave for Houston next week and I’m going to enjoy the traveling. I really enjoy playing against good competition. When a decision is made, I will know that the situation is good for me.”
