Point guard backs off of Texas commit

Texas and Rick Barnes have been bitten by the de-commitment bug for the second time in the class of 2011.
The Longhorns had already been stung by the de-commitment bug in the class of 2011 when five-star forward DeAndre Daniels opened things up a few months ago. After Daniels de-commitment, rumors swirled that point guard Myck Kabongo would be next. The rumors were quickly shot down by Kabongo who said that he was still solid with the Longhorns.

Earlier this week, the rumors started again but were denied by Kabongo and those closest to him as late as Friday night.
Saturday afternoon, Henderson (Nev.) Findlay Prep assistant coach Todd Simon confirmed that Kabongo has opened things up.
A five-star prospect ranked No. 24 overall in the class of 2011 Rivals150, Kabongo -- who is declining comment for now -- will still consider the Longhorns. The other teams who make up his early list are Duke, North Carolina, Syracuse and Kentucky.
